Recently i stumbled over RawTherapee because i have somehow lost my CD of my Canon 5D Mark II and i needed just a Raw Converter on my Laptop.
I was really shocked at the first moment how many function this piece of Software is providing. OK the File-Manager is a little bit slow on Nework Drives but this is i think the only bad thing.
You have all the features ready which you are need for a good Raw-Converting.
The File Browser.
The Filebrowser is a little bit like Adobe Bridge you can Browse through your files. Your are able to rate the Images with 5 colored Stars. But the cool thing is, it is possible to work on the Images in the Miniature view.
The Editor
The Editor of RawTherapee is a kind of a materpiece as well. You can find whatever you need for a real Raw converting.
Here you can find serveral Panels. It would be to much for this Blog to explain everything in detail. But one thing i want to
show you, the noise Reduction.
The Image was taken with a Canon 5D Mark II + Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L USM Lenses on f/2.28 1/125s and ISO 800 so there is a lot of noise because of the high ISO.

I am very pleased with the result it reduces the noise without bluring the image to much.
Raw Therapee has several strong Algorithms like the demosaicing algorithm AMaZE and it does a really good job on my images. Another standing out feature of Raw Therapee is the RL Deconvolution sharpening tool it creates really good looking sharper images without creating halos like the unsharp mask.
In my opinion Raw Therapee delivers in the most cases the better result than any other Software.
