Graphic Designers boon and bane of the Web-Developer?

Sometimes while I am working with an external graphic designer who was assigned by the customer there are popping up horrible thoughts in my mind “should I kill myself or him”

As web-developer and graphic-designer I know what is possible and what is a pain in the a..

Shortly I had to work with a designer who is coming from the printing business and this is how his design looked. But for sure  he wanted all that graphical crap to be made in Typo3. Ok Typo3 is really cool if you are working on a website for a big business but for an office of two it is a little bit of an overkill.

However, we had some discussion and finally I installed a WordPress with the http://headwaythemes.com/ theme. This theme is really powerful and has a lot of features, nonetheless it was still a challenge to satisfy this graphic-designer.

I believe that all professional web-developers are in the same hell.
Why isn’t it possible to believe for a graphic-designer (some graphic-designer) that there are limitations.
Why isn’t it possible to listen to the tech-guy who is begging to for a realizable design.

A CM-System like Typo3, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and whatever is on the market is not Adobe Flash and a website is not an image.
If I am working on a graphic design I always have in mind that it should be realizable. It makes life a lot easier and its good for the customers wallet.
Why should a customer spend much more money on a website only because the designer is a knucklehead who has no other gods beside himself.

On the other side it is a gift to work with a graphic designer who knows what a CM-System is. In this case its all easy peasy. The work is done fast without getting stressed out.

Peace Out.
